I have not heard any vulgarity on VOX since I got my sound working again with the new computer, not a single diddly, toejam,  bigtoe, squeak or anything.... Maybe I just dont fly enough to be online with "those" people.

And yes MT I know, I  know....

Bendover I like to talk to my squadies.  Nor am I the only one with kids who enjoy flying. Talking with squadies is 1/2 the fun.  So turning down the volume is not an option. I hope you get to experience that some day.

I also have earphones, (and speakers if I choose). So when my son is flying he has the ear phones on.  Once again that does not help the problem.

I will try that jim. I did not know you could! :)

Ok jim, how do you do that? I just spent 5 min looking in setup and don't see a way to change what the range channel is set to.  It is not under voice or sound...???

Educate me please. :)

I've only been playing in the MA for about 2 weeks, and I've never heard any profanity on VOX.  Unfortunately, I'm sure it does exist.

How about the ability to squelch individual users on VOX instead of muting the whole channel?  Maybe a .vsquelch command or something.  For all I know, the current .squelch command might squelch both text and voice.  Never had to use it.

Using text to communicate with teammates is already useless because of the speed the MA text buffer scrolls.  Rarely do I look at the text buffer except when i see a system message or I'm bored and autoclimbing.  This really only leaves the range channel.  It would be a shame if I couldn't communicate with a teammmate (scream for help) because the pilot isn't paying attention to the text buffer and has range VOX muted.

In short, I'd prefer to mute the people that use the profanity, not the whole community.

Is it ironic that we play a game celebrating the machinery of war, and the player's ability to "kill" his opponent....and we are worried about our children hearing a naughty word?

Or, is it just me?

this is a resonable request from a concerned parent, I think its valid too after what ive heard lately on vox. :)

U guys are crazy.
If a child can shot down virtual humans then it should be allowed to hear some swearings. If not it shouldnt be allowed to play.
U americans are funny sometimes. U allow children to use firearms and pistols but u not allow them to say bad words ??

So children shouldnt be the cause to squelch 1.

Permasquelch

Given that 90% of the profanities are uttered by 2% of the players, I'd have to vote for a permasquelch for individual illiterates.

My granddaughter likes to fly with TaTa, and I don't particularly like the trash that she's subjected to.

Daddog,
I know on the squad channel its rough and tuff language, but most folks attempt to watch it on the range channel, But every once in awhile we forget, so the percentage should be very low on the actual numbers of bad mouth sailors:mad:

But remember that when you find someone that is really bad just squelch the cpid and it will also squelch the voice.

You'll just have to forgive us ol' farts that are on are way to hell messing up everyone's perfect life.

Agree 100%.

Don't swear on either range or squad channel. Feel no desire to start.

I'd like to have a permanent squelch list for both text and voice. There are certain individuals who I have no intention of hearing or communicating with.

We all swear in My squad all the time, I am a construction Worker I have to swear, After doing it often enough it losses it's shock value, anymore to be realy offended I nead an offensive story or scean paited for me.:) Like most things I supose it is what you make of it, how you were raised, ect, some of it is regional, bibble belter's may be more or less offended per capata, then west coasters Or New Yorkers ect.

Inso much as kids are concerned I do agree howeaver that exposing them to this krap on voice is an issue, certainly the Parents should have the means to shield them from it, and If I am corect the abality to do so exist's as listed above.

Voice is a very important tool in Ah, one of the coolest things about the game realy it would indead be a shame to have to have a certain percentage of the comunity tune out, because they cant habdel PG 13 sound tracks.

Hmmm.. not that it's any of your business how we raise our children, but all that is being requested is a game option, not a requirement to shut folks up.  Using your argument, maybe we should have nude hoochie koochie dancers having sex on the screen while we play because we are crazy for allowing our children to watch us shoot down virtual airplanes in a game.  By the way, in America, we usually don't refer to our children as "it"  :D   but I'm assuming it was a tranlsation thing.

"I am a construction Worker I have to swear"  hehe

^bump^

Guess I had it easy my first tour.. I'd missed the field with a goon drop and get a couple  laughs in the radio buffer... These days the poor noobs get called  "fluff'n idoit you don't drop on the fluff'n field"  .. how many times I've heard these rednecks talk like that I can't count.. I agree for a radio toggle.. for the foul mouths and the players starting to call the LA-7 a "la la"  .. oh I can't stand that, feel like I'm flying with the Wiggles.
