Ok i just got a PCI graphics card, and wanted to know how would i go about Disableing the original graphics from the windows screen?

Well you cant disable onboard graphics from within Windows. You have to go into your bios, usually by presing delete key on startup. Then hopefully you will have an option within the bios to turn it off. If you cant do that, then well im not sure. If you try to uninstall or delete the drivers within windows, im pretty sure that everytime you startup the computer Windows is gonna look for them, and that isnt good. I believe that on HP machines such as yours you have to physically do something to the onboard video, I'd bring it somewhere if you had to do that. Dunno though

If you want to run a pci vid card in a HP machine it is really quite simple.

#1 go into system properties, click on the hardware tab, find your onboard vid in the listed devices.

#2 highlite the device and bring up the properties, then click DISABLE device. If you disable it instead of uninstalling it then it will still be there but will not run off of that device.

#3 then you install your pci card and run the normal setup, windows will recognize the new device and you will be running on your new vid card!

So if you where to go back to system properties you will now see two video devices the onboard one will have a red X through it indicating that it has been disabled.

If you just try to uninstall the onboard it will always reload it every time you reboot the machine.

This is what I did on my HP and worked fine hope it helps you, Good luck:D

What I did with my card is this..

I installed my PCI card without doing anything else, cause i read on the box that it would over ride the Card that was already on my HD.

I would start my Comp back up, and all i have is a black screen nothing ever comes up.

I returned the damn card after trying everything i could think of.
I will probebly go back to the store again, and try that...

i instaled a AGP card in my HP w/built in card, i did what bloodstain did , select it in software, no problems.

WldThing......if you have a manual for your PC, see if you have to throw a jumper on the mobo to disable onboard graphics.
