A friend of mine is a sysop for FA. He's been going on and on about it for years.

I grabbed a copy of 3.5 from him.

It's not too bad. Tastes a bit different than AH but I am impressed with the frame rates on this tired and old Athlon 750. I didn't mess with the video until after flying. Even at 800x600 the displays are pretty good and the insturments are readable. The cockpits are rather well done also, IMHO.

Evidently, the new version has 10 different difficulty levels and there's great emphasis on "realism."

I did some flying offline and set the realism all the way up. The stalls aren't modelled all that well. Recovery seems as simple as letting go of the stick. Of course, I may have not set everything correctly. There's quite a lot of options for configuration of the arena, the FM, etc.

this christmas break I will take a more indepth look at Warbirds 3, IL2 and FA, cause my parents are buying a new computer for themselves, which hopefully will be able to run them. My computer runs AH ok, IL2 kinda crappy, and doesn't touch WBIII
