Salute CT!
« on: December 05, 2002, 10:22:53 PM »
Wmitty, Warhawk and I just had a fantastic patrol in the CT.  880 was flying high CAP (109s) over a Soviet field in support of a ground attack operation.  After flying around our patrol area until about 45% fuel, we spotted a couple of Yaks (Oldman and dmdmax) just above cloud level.  We dove in and tried to keep them busy while others worked over the field below.  At 25% fuel, we broke off and RTB'ed.  No kills, but a thrilling, historically flavourful 40 minutes.  That's why I fly the CT.

So THAT'S why we were being b&z'd by 109s!  Well, duh!  That would also explain those flaming hangers when we went back down.  Hey, Momma didn't raise no dummy here.

It was a very fun fight, proof that you don't need kills to have a great time.
