You have all heard the glass ½ empty/full definition of the difference between the two.

I prefer this definition-

The optimist believes that this is as good as it gets.

And the pessimist is afraid he might be right.

I've another definition coming from the Gulag :

Igor the optimist say : "will will soon eat toejam"

Vladimir the pessimist say : "there won't be enought for all of us ..."
