How many points can dance on the head of a pin?

Seems like Points-n-Perks is the name of this game, lately.  Anyone remember the days when we argued about aviation stuff?

I still think a good deal of aviation and manuever-related topics are discussed on these boards, but the dominating conversation tends to be 'perk this, perk that, when's 1.11 out?, stop stealing my kills, stop stick stirring, kill pizza map!, etc...' Many people are frustrated at the wait for 1.11, which is not an unfounded complaint, but people should learn some patience. The game is not perfect, neither are the producers of it, but learn to be appreciative of what you have and I'll bet you'll feel better about the game, or yourself, or whatever is bothering you. I enjoy learning about the game and WWII aircraft simply for my love of the history behind all of it. So I agree with popeye, let's have some more good ol' interesting topics instead of the aptly named 'whines.'

Popeye - Bingo.  Hit the nail on the head.  I guess I'm not the only one who thinks it's a problem.

And HT, I haven't left because I have friends here and I've been bedridden for 2 weeks and will probably be bedridden for up to 2 more months.

Its a sad day when AH players consider a calculator as important as a Joystick and good SA.

Kill for the sake of killing I say, screw the points, the "major awards' etc.

Eagl, best wishes on the recovery, hope you dont get addicted to Soap Operas.  At least with so much time on  your hands, you can think of some great stories about how you got hurt.

The answer to your question is obvious, though.

Measure the minimum area required for a point to dance.
Measure the area of a pin's head.
Calculate the allowable dance area overlap assuming all points are dancing in perfect synconization to prevent collisions.  This will require some numerical modeling.

The solution is left as an excersize for the student.

Heh Dago, so far the guys at work have suggested the best story...

"So you get married and 2 months later you have back problems...   Lucky man!"

If only that was the actual cause...
