In the Context of Suicide bombing and player numbers ...
« on: December 03, 2002, 08:06:25 PM »
Maybe this would be an idea .....

Why not have several MA style arenas open.   When you log in you may chose any one.  You are then allocated a set number of lives in that arena - say 5 for experienced players.  Once you have died that many times you are automatically booted to the next arena and not allowed back in for say 30 mins.

Newbies could have more lives perhaps for first 3 months (time period not important)

This would spread the player base around the arenas and make sure some rotation.

It would also mean if you want to stay on a particular map you'll try to stay alive.

Also repeat suiciders get booted to another map.

Also you could have several of the maps open at once so those who don't like say the Pizza map can start in another one and try to stay there.

It also means no restrictions to your game if you keep dying - you just have to move - same game different place.  However knowing how most people like to be amongst those they know it may limit behaviour.

Just a thought

As a PS - if number of lives was set to 5 and you suicided a formation of bombers then that counts as 3 lives - only 2 more and OUT YOU GO.

No-one else views on this ??

You could have Seperate Fighter, Bomber and Vehicle lives. Then a formation of bobmers wouldn't effect your fighter lives.

It wouldn't work unless the lives were based on time played. Therefore the people who spend a lot of time online would have a lot of lives, and the people who play less would have less lives. ie you would have to limit the number of times a person could die per hour.

Stop telling what to do with my $US14.95 Fascist (I believe this is the correct reply for any sort of "idea"?)
