6 o'clock view on a second monitor
« on: December 06, 2002, 05:24:20 AM »
I was digging through my flight sim collection and stumbled upon "back to baghdad" (F16 sim, not very good)

it allowed the player to use a second CRT (with an hercules card only lol) as a radar display.

since many recent cards support 2 monitors, I was wondering if AH could take advantage of it someday, ie a permanent 6 o'clock display on the second monitor...

It would be a cool addition IMHO

Bit gamey though.

Unless you positioned it actually on your RL six. Now that would be cool. :)

Some argument can be made for no direct six view, though it eventually falls under prefence since I think both solutions are too extreme.

Your idea is simply unrealistic in regards to the 6 view being up while you are looking forward.  Not much to argue with.

A second monitor would be nice for a "kneepad" function though... and maybe to handle coms and setup stuff too.  Maybe HTC could do a little bit with it and MPS processing... and watch the game zoom on the new Pentiums.

2 PC setups + 2 AH accounts + .join-command = 6 o'clock view on a second monitor (or more).

Ever notised that some pilots in AH have soo good SA. Its like they have eyes in back...

Pulling the hat switch back is easier than turning around. Now, a seperate account flying in another country to .wingman people you wanna kill, that's appealing to me.

how many can .join?

if 4,  for $60 a month and four monitors - you could be surrounded with views - neat idea
