This is nothing but a scam perpetrated by the pilots family (with some inside help no doubt) to dip their grasping little fingers into the public welfare trough.

Blur could you be more unsympathetic?  I would hope that if something ever happened to you in your workplace,that any and all avenues would be covered in order to help your family through the difficult times.  These people lost a major source of income from a man who was serving his country.  And to finish before I get off my soap box.  If there is any and i mean any shred of evidence that his is or has been left there alive, any and all means should be exhausted to discover the whereabouts of him, dead or alive.  And i would expect no less from this country.

Gents,

I saw a detailed investigation into this on 60 minutes. Not only did he survive the crash, but without a reasonable doubt he was taken captive by Iraq. They found his ejection seat away from the plane and it had been used. UN forces went to investigate 4 years later and they found his uniform on top of the sand. In other words they kept him for 4 years and when it was intvestate they dumped his uniform in the desert. God only knows what happened to him.

Blur you must be running for the lead jerk in the bbs award. Unless you have something to substantiate your wild bellybutton claim, the least you could do is recognize that the family of that pilot are having a real tough time dealing with the loss. He answered his country's call and did his job. Now both he and his family are paying the price for it and all you can do is make snide innuendos' and defame them. That is a lot of class there you are showing and it's all very low.

Now exactly what trough are you feeding out of?

 A brave man deserving of respect. All the more so if he didn't make it.

 $7000.00? As I recall, I got $124.00. Plus an extra $60.00 hazardous duty pay. Talk about being in the wrong war .

I can believe the 7000.. in 94 when I got out of the army.. an O-1 wth no time in grade got somewhere in the ballpark of about 1800 and that was without dependents. Now we're talkin about a pilot who's most likely an O-3 or higher with many years in with dependents, hazardous duty pay, BAQ, VHA etc..

It's definitely a possibility.

Wow what can anyone say to a comment like that. I know things like that have happened, but man! Why would anyone assume anything but the best about a family in their situation without any proof. I cannot believe that someone born in this great country could ever say something like what you did.

This man's job was to protect and defend the freedom this country has treasured for over 200 years, the same freedom which allows you to post on this board - the same freedom which allows us all to be secure with our lives, our jobs, our families...

Perhaps a lesson in US History would be a worthwhile endeavor for you so that you can fully appreciate the men and woman who have made the ultimate sacrifice to their country.
