Hungary almost done, need your skins
« on: December 03, 2002, 12:38:08 PM »
Hey All

Hungary is about done!.. way ahead of schedule . I need your A/C skins. Doesn’t have to be historical just nice looking.

Kweassa sent me his 109F (green hearts) here it is;

I would like the whole stable of planes :)... well, if I can’t have that, at least do a make over on the plain gray LA-5N... she needs a face lift

EDIT: Use the 1024x size zip it up and click on sig below. (email window pops up)

Brady, Kanttori has all three of those A/C reskinned in Russian livery, I believe (for Finland-Russia terrain).

Heya Sakai,

1) open terrain editor.
2)on file menu select new
3)on pop up window call new terrain something ie; skins
4) close editor yes on save
5)re-open editor, you should see a green square the rest water.
select object tab and click on anywhere on green square.
6) find plane on object list place on terrain, still highlighted, hit save texture button, exit editor.
7) open your graphics utility, bring up savedtex sub-folder in your skins folder, hit browse you should now see all the pieces you can edit for that plane.. we only need wings and fuslege.
8) bring colors up to 16 million, edit skins, when satisfied, bring back to 256 colors.
9) open editor, skins, place your newly skined plane to observe.

You can easily jump back and forth from your graphics program and the editor.. no need to compleately close program.. simply hit open and call up your skins terrain to refresh.

For planes to go into a terrain for real, you need to create a new folder called texsrc.. everything you've skinned goes in there.. map, tiles, the whole ball of wax.

This is what folks have sent me so far for Hungary.
F4F Marlet, Huri land lease, LA5n Euro camo, 262 that we won't talk about, P47-d30 Alum.. US markings.. should be something else.. nice paintjob tho, Tempest different camo, 109F green hearts, 109G and 190F Hungarian markings, A20, B26 russian markings, C47 Russian..

Still plenty room for some Polish marked spits, Yaks from Transvaliniea that sort of thing.  Captured P38s

Hmmmm . . .

Using Corel Paint 10, it won't really let me do anything other than paint over the existing files.  I get a square that contains several plane pieces, right?  But these are Bitmapped so how do I get one that is objects that I can repaint keeping integrety of lines?  Is this not possible?

Other guys that do this could answer better than me :).. I think what they're doing is adding a mask or layer to existing bitmap. For Paint shop pro there is a layer slider.. you can decide how much transparency you want.
