medals and promotion just to make it look authentic would be nice

like other flightsims you start off somewhere normally in your officers hut or by your bed in the room with the other privates and flight sergents...would be kinda cool to actually move about the airfield to different buildings to access the different info you need like control tower for maps, and airfield status the briefting room for choosing your mission and picking targets ie enemy field or just flying to a set point or for buffers set a target for a bomber mission and hanger to choose your plane weapon load outs etc which i see AH have already done....just a few things to make it look nice and pretty and not to boring and basic like WBs...some sims are like this and adds to the realism of the game...fingers cross

Don't worry about medals, or parsing the scores.  Don't worry about scorepages, dont worry about displaying the scores.

Just (for now) worry about archiving the data in a reliable manner so that a couple years down the road (and some score display system exists) we can look back at the scores from the arena today!

Deft:

That's pretty much what we're going to do.  We limited it to kill messages to keep the size manageable.  Maybe we can put some more stuff in there, but it really grows fast.

Each scoring database will be archived at the reset.

If your using a licensed version of MySQL for your database chores, T.c.X throws in the pack_isam utility for archiving.

It permits the archiving of a database in a compressed read only format. Sounds perfect for the job to me.

P.S.  I figure 1mb per 5000 pilots x 12 months = 12mb for each arena per year to keep old scores lying around.
