Has anyone though of this???
« on: December 06, 2002, 05:28:14 PM »
As you can see, I am fairly new to the Forums, and I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but has anyone thought about a Minelayer and Minesweeper for the GV's???

You could perk the mines like they are discussing perking bombs.

It would be much harder to sneak in an M3 for base capture if your enemy has laid mines around the city. It would also complicate base capture as you would need your Minesweeper to clear the way.

It would also be a hoot to set em at spawn points...Muahahahah!

Just a thought....

What do you guys think??

Might be more interesting if there was prefered GV routes to target as opposed to the outback it is now, maybe GVs get urban areas with the new bomber targets coming?
Or roads for GVs to travel on across the map like trains do.

Urban areas--it would be nice if GV didnt EXPLODE when it ran over a dead building

Yes!  I HATE that!

Driving along in a Panzer, come to the edge of the rubble, and purposefully slow down to about 10 mph just in case...start driving over... and then WHAM!  I get catapulted over on to my turret and die.  So stupid.

Those are the Hausbombe/kz/IA designed by Kurt Tank. They're perked and don't even appear on your hangar loadouts until you have 10,000 vehicle perk points. Then you can add them to any vehicle, including aircraft and dispense them with the secondary fire button.

When someone runs over them....... KERBAMMO!

That Kurt... what a designer!

Mines is an interesting idea but:

1 you would have to see them somehow,  or it would not be "fair"

2. You would without a doubt have hundreds of people laying an insane amount of mines around important bases and that might impact framerates (like mass para drops)

3. Would the guy that layed out the mine get a kill if he went to tower after he layed them?

Many issues would have to be adressed and we have mines now that looks like trees, shiny rocks and dead buildings:)

1. i agree

2. I would limit the # of mines that can be laid at each field, or perk them like a 262 or something, using only gv perks and say, you get a set of 5 or 10. That would hopefully limit #'s and not overly affect framerates...

3. especially those @#$!@#%!$%-ing white "rocks" on the pizza.

It wouldn't be fair if mines didn't restrict friendly movement.

If they did restrict friendly movement, you'd have to worry about the love muffines.

I like the sound of mines...................but i can't help but think they might get to overpowering.

If you were able to get a kil off them they would be everywhere. this means no more lonesome panzer missions cause a mine will get u before the fight. you will need a minesweeper everywhere not just for base captures.

The annoyingness of the trees and rocks will soon be the annoyingness of those bloody mines people keep dropping everywhere.

A way of controlling them will have to be develpoed for e.g.
You can only drop them in certain zones(say around a town)
They can't be dropped near enemy fields.

This is only a start nilson was right many issues have to be adressed.
