Dont be knockin those lightsabers!  They ain't cheap toys!  Some run $600-800!  I think they are kinda cool!

I have a model of an X-Wing too!  Anyone who is into WWII combat, must appriciate the looks of an X-Wing!!

:)
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

Well, thats good because... eh... I dunno - but there are like 3 billion people that signed up as potential testers - to my knowledge they only picked a few hundred.  I suppose since I posted on the site like 3 times in the past 18 months, they thought I was a safe bet for not violating the non-disclosure agreement.  :D

The beta CD should be here on Wednesday, I dunno what Im allowed to say or post screenshot wise, but Im betting its pretty limited beyond "Its cool."  At this point Im just trying to be careful to not get kicked out of the test for shooting my mouth off - the agreement was pretty strict - they threaten to kill your parents and children or something if you release unauthorized game material.

As for lightsabers - I dont know anyone who didnt ask their father to "build them one" as a kid.  That Master Replica's sight is where I got mine (Anakin FX).  The actual prop colleciton (the big $$$ ones) are impressive, but dont really interest me - the blade and sound of the FX saber is what I wanted... day or night, it lights up the entire room.  :D

As a collectible, this product is not a toy and not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Adult supervision is recommended. This product should not be used to strike others and should never be disassembled since it operates on high voltage.

Come on now - the only people who arent Star Wars geeks are Star Trek geeks and we all know they are far, far worse... "Plot a course for the Star Wars thread and set your flames to stun!"  ;)

Saurdakar, lemme know when you've got access to the beta forums.  My station name on the forums is Nifty (what a surprise!).  I've been in SWG beta since October.

come on guys, you had to know he was a sci fi geek!  Look at his handle!  :D

Beta testing isn't about getting the most technically saavy users to test out the product.  It's about getting a good cross-section of your expected user-base to run it through its paces from all angles that you couldn't possibly expect.  Sometimes the biggest bonehead computer users have a way of picking out the obvious that techies can miss.

Let me guess. Everyone wants to be a Jedi, Sith or bounty hunter?  Anyone playing an Ewok?

Star Wars?  Isn't that the TV sci-fi show starring William Shatner?  Didn't that go off the air back in the late '60s?

I seen a laborer on a job a few years back that bought an OSHA aproved hardhat that looked like vaders helmet.  I don't know who's the bigger geek, him or the guy who made it.
