Aces High benchmark
« on: March 20, 2001, 11:02:00 AM »
I know it's been plugged before...but I wanted to do it once more because it's a great utility.  The benchmark is easy to run and it's a great resource for those wishing to check out new video cards or get the most out of their current ones.  If we get enough people, it will be a great way to see which driver versions work best for AH.

I find it a whole lot more useful to benchmark using a game I play primarily than using standard benchmarks that are sometimes skewed depending on the processor or video card your running.  The more people that use it the more useful it will be.  Head on over and check it out.  Thanks Fradim.

Yep, used it, and I agree, if you want to monitor performance increases as you upgrade, or compare your system...this is a great place to start!

Choose video resolution and check 32 bits of color resolution (65,536 colors)

This eliminates Voodoo 3 boards from the benchmark.

Wow, i think i have the fastest comp on there. I get 66fps at 1024x 768 in the test. In actual flight i peg at my refresh rate of 75 most of the time.

Mason22, Batmarks are your average FPS for each resolution.  If your average was 66 then input that number beside whatever resolution you were testing on the submission form.  It's great info if you can do it for every resolution.  Just make sure you follow the instructions...I was on my last one when I discovered I had been forgetting to turn clutter "off"    Had to start all over.

Wow, i forgot to turn clutter off too. My fram rate is way higher with it off. P.S. I don't think the script to submit the benchmark is working. I got an e-mail that says the address was undeliverable?

have an HP Athlon 850 w192mg PC100
and a voodoo5 agp and winME

Any suggestions other than the obvious get 133 or 150 ram?

Would switch to win98 but hp has something on the hardrive that won't allow me to change the OS

Nope not behind a firewall rip. I am going to try and post again anyway. I forgot to turn off the ground clutter and my frame rate is even higher. I get 73fps at 1024x768!

Take out a hammer and remove any reference to Hewlett Packard they are pure evil   Seriously, most of those 'brand name' systems don't perform as well as generic systems with the same specs. Too much extra useless garbage loaded onto them.
