Don't drool wlfgng.  There are a few ways to calculate octane ratings of fuel.  I do not know if England and the U.S. use the same method.

when i used to race my dirt bike i use 108 octane rather expensive but wow what a difference,btw retired that 3 years ago

What a surprise... gas is more expensive here than almost anywhere else in the U.S... I think the one exception is Death Valley. :eek:

where do you find 93 in portland.  I've looked around and with the alcohol they are required to put in I've found nothing over 91.  

although I've never heard any 'pinging' with the volvo, It says it requires 92 an I suspect that the computer retards the timing to alow for lower octane. ( It does seem to have a bit more power when I've been able to run a few tanks of 93 through it while working out of town)

93 is 2.09 here on mvy. It goes to 2.25 on occasion  :(
