Actually 1800 kg is 3,973 lbs. I only know that because my aircraft book says that is the loadout for the Ju87D.

yes they did carry 1800kgs.

they carried a huge amount of ordinance for a single engined bomber.

finally the axis have a plane that carries as much poundage as almost every USAAF plane has for the last 2 years :)

P47 carries 2500lb +10xrockets (80lb each?)
P38 2000lb + 10 rockets
P51 2000lb + 6 rockets

best Axis SE aircraft before stuka was 190f8 with a paultry 500kg+4x50kg which should have added up to 1540lbs but due to inaccurate modeling has actually been 1400lbs since its introduction.
(oh and of course the 110 was a bit better with 2400lbs)
dont begrudge us a decent loadout. The stuka only flies at 230mph!! whats so dangerous about that? :) its a c47 with bombs :D

Red star/black cross has a picture of SC1800 bombs on pallets used to destroy a citidell on the River Bug in 1941.  The text says they were dropped by dive bombers but is unclear as to exact type.

btw 3 of these destroyed the citidell complex..........

I think their use was "unusual"...............

I am surprised the AH Stuka does not labour more heavily when carrying one

I dropped one on a town last night and my screen just filled with destroyed reports plus GV kills.........I later ditched(captured) with 5 perk points.

The suicide jabo problem could really have arrived now.........

At least they can be stopped, Tilt.

 It's not like the Typhoons or P-38Ls, P-51Ds, P-47Ds.

Get to alt, try to stop them, and they just nose down a dive straight to the field. Not so the Stuka. They're even slower than the TBMs.

I agree.  The suicide jabo problem may have been partially solved with the intro of the Stuka, for a number of reasons:

(a) the Stuka is slow enough that most fighters can catch it on ingress, so diving down isn't the insta-fix it is with the P-47, P-38, P-51, and Typhoon; and

(b) the Stuka is slow enough that most people should be able to pull out of their attack dive after dropping their ordinance.
