Isn't that what the Il2 was made for?  I have not tried it yet, does it still work?

then it would be a true ground attack platform.

maybe an ammo loadout option where if you take the 37mm you cant have the 1800kg bomb just a 1000k or something like that.

oh well my 2¢

I would like to see a weapons package that allowed it to carry a torpedo like the D-4 did.  Unfortunately, the 37mm Flak18 cannons didn't come until the G model.

Take one up, IL-2's get swatted down pretty easily...I tried to take on some tanks with one the other night.  Same thing every time, 1 ping to the tail and my Oragami IL-2 lawn darts.

The il2 dies to ostwinds and m16s as readily as anything else.  In 1.11 they're no longer able to inflict any more damage than any other plane using thier guns.  Panzers/tigers are completly immune, and ostwinds guns are the only thing threatened.

Best plane I've found for dealing with GV's is a stuka with 2x 250kg and a 1000kg bomb.

We need the 37mm cannons on the Il-2.  Ours only has 23mm cannons.

The Hs129 with the PaK75 75mm anti-tank cannon would be good as well.

The Mosquito FB.Mk XVIII with the 57mm cannon might get a tank now ant then.

The Yak-9T that we have now is armed with one of the 37mm cannons that the Il-2 should have.

The B-25H would be useless.  It has a 75mm low velocity cannon that would just bounce off of tanks.  It'd be good against light armor and buildings though.

If this is correct, then lets bring on the IL2 weapons upgrade! :)

Not true, if you attack from 75 degrees or more just about anything over 20mm will eat them up. Yes I have killed even a tiger with my F4U-C guns. Was at about 85 degree dive and light him up about 3 passes and about 100 rounds or so.

Check it yourself, it is most certainly armed with two 23mm VYa cannon.

Not the versions of the P-51 that we have.  No Merlin engined P-51 had cannons, and only some of the Allison engined P-51s had cannon.

LoL opps that quote was supposed to be innominate saying that GV's are immune to aircraft cannons. Guess I hit the quote on wrong post:D

I would love to see some more aircraft with the 37mm, provided they actually had them.

Il-2 has 9 Kills of Tiger I - Tiger I has 26 Kills of Il-2

C.202 has 1 Kills of Tiger I - Tiger I has 0 Kills of C.202

well then off to start an IL2 weapons thread in Aircraft and Vehicles  I am sure HTC would fix it if we supply the info.
