Thrawn End it all is a great freeware program from PC magazine that allows to you to close all the background programs running on your PC. Believe me there's a lot running that you don't know about.

Fully configurable, if you make a mistake and close the wrong program, no problem. You end up with a script of programs to be closed anytime you defrag or play online. Very helpful with defrag because all those scanner, printer, photo programs are shut down making it a much faster process.

With WB you have to be lean and mean running the program. A necessity with WB. I just got into the habit of using it before I fly.

If I turn on my toybox, go online to fly this is how many programs are running in my computer. All those not protected are shutdown using the program. One program will not close so I kill it. I shut norton down seperately. Experiment and get the minimum needed to fly.

Another good freeware program is RegCleaner.  Program to examine and tweak your startup registry and your program files. Great for discovering hidden programs that slip into your computer from the web. Hotmail was supplying my computer with Porn site pages :) You'll find some strange things getting in unnoticed.

You'll also be able to delete those programs that you "thought" you had deleted using there supplied "uninstall" feature. Oh they really took it all out.....NOT

Another good program for getting the most out of the Toybox is Tweak-Me. You pretty much run it once. I got a free trial, set it up and have 40 more times to use it before I buy :D Try a search, this is the "buy" site.

Does the number default back to 0 when you pass 1,000,000?
Did you pass that mark yesterday?

Actually, unlike Ripsnort and several others around here, I don't feel compelled to post every 2 minutes.  Thus, I have only posted a lowly 840 some-odd times.

Here are a couple of my other fav backgrounds:
