Il2 has missions (coops) and dogfight servers for every skill type. There are several "online" wars. Theres something for everyone.

The dogfight servers hold up to 32 live players  and have a variety of plane types enabled. From early 1941 over Smolensk or Moskow. to 1945 flyin over Berlin. There are fantasy Dogfight maps as well. The coops are like mini intense scenarios especially flown in full real. No icons inflight radar etc.

Brady and I flew for about 2 hours last night and even though I only got 3 kills it gets you sweating and heart moving. You feel drained afterward. I got in a fight with a yak 7 that was strictly awesome.

Brady (still getting used to the fm) stalled and went into a flat spin trying to follow the yak up. The yak was fixated on me and eventually I roped him. He stalled and I came back down and nailed him. He didnt do one of those ah explode to tower deals he simply burnt up. It was a beautiful sight.

The eye candy in il2 adds alot to the immersion buts it the gunnery and dm that make it fun.

Brady and I were in another coop in g6s and it was a blast as well.

Il2 doesnt replace the instant action you get from entering into the ah main. Its box game with a multiplater component. But if you ever played EAW its that level of intense fun.

Server quality depends on the host. On hyperlobby theres lotsa Euro players so finding a good host shouldnt be hard. I havent seen the type of lag in any il2 game that I have seen in ah. There is lag but for the most part it depends on whos hosting.

Any question you have getting the game set up email me. In the past week about 3 squaddies went out and got il2 and we got umm set up. Brady has had the game 3 days now and seems hooked. BTW most folks play on hyperlobby so dl it once ya get il2 up and running.

If nothing else its a break from AH. Everyone needs a little strange now and again.

I dont think ill totally brake with AH. I have to many good friends flying it and i dont want to miss em.
But i defenetly need a brake. I am getting to often to agresive and that not good.
I also dont like like to fly like a coward just to stay allive. aNd the current MA doesnt give u other choices.
Ill defenitly go out and buy IL-2.

nah Wlfgng WB3 would be luck to have half the number of people playing, they have more like 1/4.

I still enjoy this game, but it isn't the only game I play by a long shot, GPL, diablo 2, f1-2001, console games. So AH will be good for a while to me.

I don't drive GV's all that much, so I can't really comment on them. I just have fun playing, I am not a ww2 pilot nor do I pretend to be. I have tried almost every air-sim worth talking about to date and none of them have kept my attention for over a year (aside from WB).
