M8 'Greyhound': ENY 25 OBJ 25

Fw190F-8: ENY 25 OBJ 10

Now, what is the problem with those numbers, you ask?  Well, let me show you.

The M8 first:

The M-8 has 855 kills and has been killed 2426 times for a whopping .35 to 1 kill death ratio.

As dreadful as the kill death ratio is, it is actually the secondary issue.  The fact is, the M8 hardly gets used.

In comparison, the ENY 30 OBJ 10 M16 has 6637 kills and has been killed 9605 times.  It is far more common.

The fact of the matter is that the M8's designed role, scout and infantry support, does not really exist in AH.  Any airplane makes a better scout and there are no infantry to support.  Thus the M8 is relegated to fast response "tank", a role it is heavily out matched in.  It does see successes, but the difficulty of those successes are not recognized.  The M8 scores less than 2 perk points for killing a Panzer IV H, a vastly more capable and common vehicle in AH.

Now for the Fw190F-8:

The Fw 190F-8 has 740 kills and has been killed 1117 times for a kill death ratio of .66 to 1.

While the Fw190A-8's kill death ratio is markedly superior ro that of the M8, it sees even less use.

For comparison, I'll look at the F4U-1D, which also has an ENY 25 OBJ 10 rating.  The F4U-1D has 9455 kills and has been killed 10874 times.

It is clear that the F4U-1D is used approximately ten times as often, yet the ENY values are identical.  The Fw190F-8 doesn't have the loadouts modeled to warrant its being used as a Jabo aircraft on the level of the F4U-1D.  Until those loadouts are added, the only use of the Fw190F-8 is in scenarios and dedicated flyers of German machines.

I'm sure there are others, the P-40 springs to mind, but the real stand out in my mind is the M8.

Please look at this HTC.

Thanks.

I've already written E-mails to HTC about this and requested Pyro to look at it (about the F8) if he has I don't know, nothing has been done about it anyway.

It wasn't Christmas in CA when I posted it, just in the UK.  The time stamp is Greenwich Mean Time.

Though you are perhaps right, I should have waited until the 26th or 27th.

I guess it also depends on which terrain is in use.  For example the Pizza terrain would see a lot less use of the F4U-1D since it is primarily used from a CV, although some people do use it from a land airfield.  The uterus map again would see the F4U-1D used less.  However, both the Baltic & the NDISLES would see this aircraft used a great deal.

On a similar note the same applies to the M8, depends which terrain is in use.  It's a good vehicle on the NDISLES, Baltic and Uterus, being used as a fast anti-armour vehicle.

I'll use the 190F8 only secondary to the A5, though I'd never use the A8 or D9; though I've not really flown much Luftmetal this tour.  The 190F8 is a fine aircraft, just slow climb with a full load.

The ENY value, perhaps it is not just the aircrafts use being considered but its firepower.  The cannons on the 190 are superior to .50s on the F4U (although .50s are still effective to their 'sprayability'), if you know how to use them right ;).  So perhaps it is a combination of useage/firepower/survivability to determine ENY values as well?

Hell, I don't know, just my 2 pence worth, but it doesn't make much difference what they are now since we have the perk multiplier.
