The only problem I have is when chasing a bogey I get killed from behind, only to see a friendly right behind the bogey who shot me down. Then I thank them for the non chk 6.

Oh I am sure they were tyring to give you a check six as soon as they took thier shoots on the guy first of course.  Hell a good deal of aces high aint battle but shots of opportunity, you get as many chances as you get killed.

Still I give the call even if I am setting up a shot, but that is just cause I am dumb.

I love it when they use me for bait. If I get chk 6 call I will break which will make my friends kill more difficult. So what reason will they have to give me one.

But all in all I say there are a number of folks who will give 6 call and i try to thank as many as I can because 6 calls are becoming rare.

I love it when you are missing a left wingtip half an elevator a rudder and your engine is leaking oil while you are trying to land at a deacked and smoking field and six guys give you a check six. Not only are you helpless to do anything about it but they are not very likely to get a thank you at all.

I had a classic one the other night. A fellow nit, one of the DMD lot, was low engaged in a 1 vs 1 about d4 out from me. I see a high spit diving to join in, so I chk 6 him, he starts ranting at me don't chk 6 get down here and help him on vox. I think to myself hmm f u very much. Anyway the spit missed its first pass, simply because he was turning fighting, not because he saw it, I thought better of it and let the pair of them have their way with him.

6 calls are a luxury. If you get one, appreciate it, if you don't and you die its you're own damn fault for not looking.

I get a charge out of the guys that yell and scream if you dont give them a check six in time. They seem to resent the fact that your not spending 100% of your time watching them, and may be a little late seeing the situation develop.

LOL yup. or when your already dead and your body just doesnt know it yet as you are spiraling down into the ground.
Honestly most of the "check6" calls I get come too late for them to do any good. ORRR when someone being on my 6 is more then obvious.
. Not that Im ungrateful for check6's but at least as often as not I either get em when I dont need em or when its already too late.
Often they serve more as a distraction then an aid.
Personally I'd much rather have someone tell me over Vox about current dangers I may be unaware of.

thought should be given before you give out a check6 call

A classic example of this is when someone is involved in a twisting turning dogfight with three or more planes already.
Odds are they already know at least ONE of those planes is on their 6 Therefore a check6 call is uneeded and more then often unwanted.
BUT if you see a 1V1 fight going on or one plane chasing another  and a second enemy plane closing from a distance Then a check6 call will at least alert the pilot of the presence of a second aircraft
another instance where a check6call is warrented is the plane that is flying along solo and you see an enemy plane closing on him. from any other direction then the direction he is headed. Now he may not know of the enemy presence
Again there a check6 call is warrented.

for myself personally I would much rather get a Vox call to alert me then a check6 call. and if I could I would probably squelch check6. Way way too often it comes too late to do any good which is usually AFTER Im in flames.

I both give and get check6 calls. I  I try to give them when I think it may do some good and sometimes get em when they do.
To those that give them at the right time. Thank you.
to those that dont... THINK! I dont need a check6 call to warn me about the plane Im already fighting orrrr when Im already fighting 3 or more. Also If you see me diving in on a base dont even bother. God himself couldnt divert me from making my bomb  run. Well.. maybe God could but nothing else would LOL

Now.. if we could just get rid of the absolutely and totally useless  but VERY annoying "ACE (base) UNDER ATTACK" call

I try to give 'Six Calls' if able ; but by the time I figure our who's in front it's usually too late to do any good :(

Oh, and no thanks are necessary.  It's a waste of everyone's time to scroll up the buffer, find the call, get stright and level, check your 'six' again and type the message.  I don't want you to have to do that.  Life's too short.........

Agree 100%

Don't blame other players for you'r own bad SA.

I usually do not have the time to type em out, to dangerous in
a hot area, been shot down typing a few times.

A thanks for 6 call button maybe :) would help. Just kidding.

I usually thanks peopel for 6 calls, but have been at reciving
end of bogus 6 calls a few times, only to see the sender move
in after my break, and shoot target down.

mrniel3 ,
There is a 'six call' key of sorts.  I have mine set up as 'Caps Lock'.   Just keep hitting it till the guy your trying to warn has a box aound him and hit Enter.
It's in the 'keys' portion of Setup.  I think....
