Author Topic: Anyway to speed up Clipboard when loading AH ? (startup screen) (Read 567 times)

just wondering if there is somewhere or way to speed up the clipboard movement when starting up AH. It starts as a small clipboard then "tumbles" out to the full size clipboard.

It's rather slow (when compared to previous versions). Is this extra time needed for launching or starting something for AH?

i took the ahlogo file into photoshop and erased the whole back ground. dont take very long to load a white screen:cool:

So what if it takes a few more seconds for the clipboard to come into place?

It only causes a very slight delay, which I think is well worth it....

it's pretty annoying actually, it's more than a 'slight' delay.

it's like watching the clipboard grow in slow motion....it's much slower than the origional startup screen before 1.11

just wondering if there is any functionality that is needed which causes the slower movement, or if there is something that can be sped up.

Normally I would agree with you, personally I find it annoying to, an option to break it (like hitting the spacebar) would be nice.

If it was some really long intro (say several minutes) then yes, I would agree..... but for the sake of a few seconds - are you really in that much of a hurry to get into the game?

BTW, Dingbat, what happened to your second \ at the end of the //+HG+\\ in your signature? Its not like HTML is enabled which would strip it (as I think it does on the roster in the game)

it did not do this before 1.11, why now? Before we could launch AH, and click go. Now we have to wait for the clipboard to "tumble" out before we can enter. Is it a purposeful thing that is needed for some sort of function within AH. Or is it just there for "coolness" factor. I don't really think it adds to the opening of AH, rather i feel that it gives AH a more sluggish opening. And in todays world of games, IMO people aren't looking for sluggish openings. If they want an intro, give them an intro, not a slow tumbling clipboard.

we didn't need/have it before, why now?

He or Nuch needs to work on the website it's a little out of date. I may even do it for them

Hehe, seems OK now. As for the website, have you seen it recently? Nuch sent a message just over a week ago saying he had updated it? Click on the HG logo in my signature....

OK sorry.... but it's the Hell Gods squad that Dingbat and I are both members of....
