Follow up from Jim (Email) in regards to the AH film of the 262 that we made them.

Are these the 262's that were started at the Texas Airplane Factory in Texas that we viewed at the 1998 War Bird's Con? I know they ran into $$$ and management problems and the project was sent elsewhere. Sure was sweet seeing these birds in the flesh. One of the two seaters was full duel IFR with airconditioning and pressurization, it was being built to spec for one of the owners. The whole story behind the engines is beyond me, but it was fascinating what power was available in the new engines that fit inside the original nacelles.

A must see for any enthusiast.

Yes, they are the one and the same.  Steve (forgot his last name) died in his crash of his F-86 though, and the project was left high and dry without $$.  They found a buyer for "White 1" which made its first flight in Nov. 2002..and as mentioned above, Messerschimdt foundation is paying for a second one...but after that..the money runs out unless they find some more buyers. :(

Can you make the film available where we can see it?  After all
IT was ME you shot down, all 3 planes, LOL  (S) very nice pictures also.

Sorry aac, didn't see this until just now...
Yes, I will , soon as we get DSL in this area, suppose to be this spring.  I only have a 56k modem and uploading a 206 meg. film would be quite a task!
