"The Ride of the Valkyries" by Wagner would of course be very appropriate, but how about "Behold, the Armies of War descend screaming from the Heavens!" by Bal Sagoth? It would fit perfectly in a scene where the goons jump out of the C47's

Glenn Miller - The Squadron Song
Glenn Miller - Air Corps
Glenn Miller - In The Mood

I would think that time period music would go well with a time period game

Though all the above choices are great also I do think the big band music would be a great hit on the History Channel

Battery - Metallica

synched up with a flight of 190's attacking a B-17 formation, after which a massive dog fight breaks out between the escort and a wave of 109's.

The opening movie from the AW2 box version always comes to mind when I hear that song

Gotta go with Wagner and "Ride of the Valkyries". Think an instrumental would be best.

Yep, "Ride Of The Valkyries" is sure good and if you want a really moody, dark, formation kinda sound then 'Mars, Bringer of War' - Holst would be pretty good!

 hmmm....
Duran Duran: Wild Boys
Duran Duran: View to a Kill
????????   : Black sheep theme (if F4U's are used in video)
Guns'n'Roses: Welcome to the jungle
Riggs      : Radar Rider
Black Sabbath: The mob rules
Black Sabbath: War Pigs

of course I know there are some DAMN good musicaly adept people out there within AH that could make the music for it. (maybe get a few month too? hehe) it could start out with something light and right for that time frame... then... (you get teh idea)

for exapmle.... start out with "In the Mood" While Taxing down the run way and for a small flight of easy go luck turns and rolls blend to "Wild Boys" as 2 sizable units slam into eachother for a furball from Hell.

that would cover the age group nicely.

AND JUST WHAT YOUNG MAN IS WRONG WITH BEING IN THE 40-55 AGE GROUP??????

And just what makes ya think we wouldn't like some heavy metal music as an intro???

LOL

when I watch the History channel, or Discovery, on rare occassions I dig out the albums, (thats 33 1/3 records man.. we're talking classic Vinyl!!, predates tapes, cd's dvd's etc. for you youngsters...)

Whats wrong with moby grape, cream, zeppelin, black sabbath, moody blues, etc..

nuthing like a 17 minute version of Inna-gadda-da-vida.. to get  ya through a commercial break...

One The theme from "Chariots of Fire"
two "Ride of the Valkyries"
Staying away from anything by groups who may demand royalties rules out 90% of the suggestions so far

Sometimes in the game there are those rare golden  moments when I find myself immersed in an orgy of destruction, killing and virtual inhumanity, real horror show . Enveloped by tracers, fire, great pillars of smoke, and planes tumbling from the sky . Then it begins, I hear it. Imperceptible at first, a gradual creschendo till it is trumpeting climacticly in my minds ear. It is the fourth movement of Beethoven's 9th symphony, the choral . And war is flowing though my vains and he looks through my eyes .
