Why does the Me163's engine shut off during sustained neg Gs? Just curious.

Yes. I was messing around in the training arena with it. Every time I took the me163 into sustained neg Gs under red out conditions the engine/igniter would turn off as if I had manually shut off the engine. I could then turn the engine back on normally. I repeated this several times. I was trying to get the me163 to blow up under heavy neg Gs, but the engine kept shutting off instead. I'm just curious if this is a bug or part of the plane design?

Did you post this in the Bug Forum?

Its a rocket motor, and thus pressurized...my guess is it shouldnt be affected by negative G's...but ask the HTC guys in the proper channel. We could be wrong

Why does the 163 rocket engine have throttleable thrust levels like a jet engine?

Why does the ram-air turbine (the little propeller on the nose for the generator in RL) stop spining when the engine is shut down?

Because it really did. The 163's rocket engine was fully throttleable.

Heh heh. Hadn't noticed that. I would assume HTC simply modeled it as a small feathered prop and so it behaves as if it were engine driven.
