Long ago when most TVs were still B/W, young people of all ages would get together to dance. Partners would be out on the dance floor jitter-bugging away like crazy and having great fun.
But others were not having fun. They couldn't jitter-bug or didn't want to. So they sat on the sidelines, watched everyone else having a good time, and wished there was a dance style for them.
Lo and behold! Along came Chubby Checker and his new dance, 'The Twist 1.04'. No more fancy jitter-bugging with all those hard-to-learn steps. Nope...people just went out and jumped around pretty much however they wanted to. The folks who had been bystanders joined in and soon were having the time of their lives. It was great fun for everyone.
Oh sure...some of the old jitterbug crowd stood aside and muttered darkly, 'But it's not realistic'...'It's too easy'...'It's ruined the dance'.
But nobody listened...they were too busy having fun.
Nice work, HTC!
