Wireless Adapter Help!
« on: January 06, 2003, 11:22:18 PM »
Ok, I bought Microsoft Broadband Networking stuff about a month ago, both the Base Station and the Notebook Adapter. Everything was running perfectly - had excellent connections everywhere in the house on the laptop.

However, yesterday my wife and I bought a new 2.4Ghz cordless phone (previously using 900Mhz). Now, the Notebook will not establish a connection to the internet. I get a good signal, but it wont connect.

I read through the users guide, and it said soemtimes 2.4Ghz phones can cause problems. I removed the phones, took them into the truck, but still no go.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help and, as always, your time.

Nim

2.4Ghz ALWAYS screw with wireless, however if you unplugged them and you still cant get a signal, I have never experienced that.  When my 2.4 made my wireless go crazy, i unplugged it completly, turned of my router, and restarted computer and everything worked fine.

Somewhere in your network setup (for both the adapter and the hub or access point or whatever it's called in your config) there will be an option to set the "channel" for the connection.  Also see if your phone lets you change channels.  This should clear it up.
