Talking to the bank tomorrow...
« on: January 06, 2003, 03:12:27 PM »
With a bit of luck I can borrow about €500 so I can pay my bills and get some new rudders - and thereby fire up AH again :D.

Am dl'ing the latest version, just to see what the hell has happened. Last time I played was 1.08 (beginning) so it's gonna be interesting.

While you're d/ling files, might as well d/l Mitsu's sound pack. See the link, with the info about what's new, in the Sound forum.

Bank woman (same woman who transferred money without my consent from one of my accounts to another) said she would 'call'- After I went home to provide her with additional papers. Twice.

Grr.

Unfortunately only bank in Dk that has NetBanking.

I should talk to some other banks about that. Hm. Would give me a job. And money. And AH.

And yes, 1.08 was ages ago.

But DAMN. Played offline yesterday. it's like last time I had a long break - when i return I think WTF WHY ARE THE PLANES SO DAMNED SMALL? How the hell am I supposed to hit them?!?

Heh, takes some getting used to.

BTW HiTech: WHERE ARE THE BOMBS FOR THE C202?

What advantages, if any, do rudder pedals mounted on the floor give you as compared to those on the stick?

don't know if there is a deffinate advantage. but once you've flown with them you can't really fly without them.

besides the twisty stick thing is just weird.

huge difference in feel and control IMO.
it's easy to Twist the stick unintentionally while moving it..doesnt' happen with pedals.
they are obviously more realistic (as per RL a/c) and once you get used to them you'll never go back.. unless you have no choice that is...

More travel as well so there is finer control.

I think I'll have to use more than a chisel on some of the layers, Dejavu :D

And pedals give you more accurate and immediate control without the possibility of input affecting roll or pitch. I've tried twistie stick (which is what they have on the Comanche helicopter it seems) but I can't fly worth anything with it.

Plus I got a really WEIRD mapping on my joystick for views etc. I cannot fly with any other config than CH throttle, ch fighterstick in AH. It's odd. Tried the X35, ended up giving it to my brother for XMAS last year.

Mitsu's sound pack is good

Only change I made was removing his Me163 engine sound for the Ar234s RATO sound.  His sound does something...the cycling sound it makes...just drives me nuts.  Love that rato sound in its place  :)
