Departed from Field 33 in spitfire 1 with 100% fuel and climbed over the field in north/south runs.
A body of inbound fighters appeared in our 11 o’clock approximately co-altitude. We received the order to engage after identifying them as 8 c202’s.

A “strange” couple of minutes passed as both groups circled for position.  We entered a large circle – each group trying to gain advantage on the other.   It was difficult to isolate a target and it was becoming noticeable that we were starting to string out in a long line.

Plumbit was substantially below the group and a flight of 4 enemy dropped down on him.  This broke the circle and battle was enjoined.  I quickly found myself defensive and was forced into a series of descending turns.  We passed through a flight of 110’s on the way down.  Breaking free, I looked back and saw my wingman 2k back isolated and surrounded by 4 C202’s.  I looped and charged through them to break up their attack and tried to zoom away keeping energy high.  The C202.s caught us rapidly and we were forced again into a swirling dogfight.   I made a critical error when I pushed over and with the engine cutting I was left like a duck on water.  After bailing I saw Frank finally succumb to the barrage of C202’s.

The rest of the Squad dispatched the other half of the C202's but became entangled with the 110's which had joined in.  Caught scattered and slow - most were ground down.   One survivor managed to refuel and reup to be later shot down by our own AAA fire!

all.
I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

Hey Dantoo, those 110's were us in 272 "Whispering Death". We knocked a fair few of you down, then caught it ourselves when de-acking a bit later.

WoD accomplished primary mission (readying D66 for troops) in 5 minutes flat......... we did not actually have to leave the vehicle spawn point although many of us enjoyed driving around to take in scenery.

We next launched in two groups of c47's toward crete one group over flew d66 (which we captured)  the other flew to take P31 which was capped........ by the allies.....all were lost.

Two of the first group crashed into a mountain.........or one crashed and the other followed..........

That left one with troops ..(me) and one rtb to get more troops (Shift).

I waited aways off from 31 until told it was clear........... when I got there I discovered it to be capped.............. by the allies....... no freindlies in sight.............. scrub another C47.

Shift later returned and dropped over 31 where a waiting  Allied M16 shot all the troops.

Mag33 was tasked with capping City and port area.
First encounter here was very intense c202's and 109's everywhere mass furball.
Three of us survived and continued to Cap city area until forced to refuel.
After refueling we made bee line for city area at 5k, only to see your Cap of approx 8 109's fly right over us with about 5.5k alt advantage, we held our breath and sure enough they never saw us and continued flying east.
Its about this time we saw a poor lil C47 approaching from south of port hugging the scenery, well I ask you what was we supposed to do :D
Just caught it as troops were dropping and we had to strafe them down to.
Your angry 109 escorts came to kill the low n slow spits but due to some good teamwork on our part none of them made it home.

all was good frame
