Goon stories anyone?
« Reply #17 on: January 13, 2003, 07:29:44 PM »
On the AK map, was in a goon heading to enemy base. One got throug the CAP and wasted my entire tail section before he was wasted by another rook. I was still able to fly straight and level for a few minutes without no tail, but I had to be a tard and see if I could maneuver it.  I went down faster then an airplane made out of concrete. I have never been able to do that again, but it was really impressive to see flying (no screenshots though, D-OH :(  )

I think I win, actually. I bounced off the cliff twice before coming to a stop.

I don't believe you

but actually, I remember bouncing off the runway so hard in a B26 that both wings fell off...  it's a tough plane

Yeah, actually I think I'm up to 1,500 perks in a fighter or something like that, maybe more.  I quite counting because, you're right, I'll probably never be able to blow that many in a single tour anyway. :)

Getting 2 or more perks per flight, even when getting shot down, is one of the benefits of flying the "second string" planes in the MA.  The FW190A8 rings up perkies like a pinball machine rings up scores! :)

I was flying a 262 with no wing tips. I was able to cruise 75mph faster than the charts and was able to landed safely after making a couple high speed passes at a bomber formation.

This is evidence that the flight model is perfect.

I once crashed a perfectly good typhoon with absolutely no damage whatsoever. In fact, I pull this impossible feat off quite regularly by lawndarting like a moron on a pretty regular basis. I think I have you all beat!

I fly the Hog a fair bit and never had any performance increase with damage.  In fact it is usually a noticable decrease in performance even losing one flap or alieron.
