From Gunner to Pilot Autopilot delay
« on: January 13, 2003, 11:02:50 AM »
I was up in a Stuka last night and had a nice parade of cons behind me.  I jumped into the rear gun, threw some rounds at them (harsh laguage might've done more damage! LOL) and then jumped back into the pilot position to try for some evasive manuevers.  The controls were still locked on autopilot for what seemed like eternity.  By time I was able to release the Stuka from is auto-something, I was in pieces...being nice, straight and level for an extra second helped my adversary out

Any way this delay/autopilot can release once the pilot is back in the pilot position?  This 1-2second delay is killing me

hitting X to break auto seems quicker than moving the stick.

"what have i told you never fly strate and level in the combat area for mor than 30 seconds" sum big boss dude in battle of brittan

i just dont use auto levle in the combat area  unless your in buffs or a plane with good gun coverage eg b17

worth a try

Not worth the effort to implement, the resone it's there is to make engaging auto much easyer.

And if you wan't it off quickly, just hit x once.

Might consider an auto off key.
