Here's what I expect from New AW's

1) I expect there will be a whole lot more furballing until they learn the FM and strat.

2) I expect AW squads will discover the mission planner and us old time AH people will have to run and hide because they will walk all over our backsides until we get organized.

3) I expect new ideas from all these experienced pilots with fresh eyes.

4) I expect that AH will evolve with the influx of AW's.  What it will become I can't say but it will change and I think it will be better.

When the AH community began it built on what warbirds had established and evolved into a new community.  We had strong feelings about how AH should be. Now a whole new community has come through the doors.  

How much of AH will survive isn't the question.  The challenge to the establishment will make the game and community better.  It's always a little painfull, but growth like this is always good.  

So what do you predict will change in AH?

I dunno. I've seen AW squads come into AH before, just not so many at once.  I'm personally convinced that in six months, it'll be a non-issue.  Some squads will be good, and kick ass; other will be social clubs; and still others will be havens for deeebs.  Until then, we'll just go about our business as normal, with perhaps an added amount of "haze the newbie".  I don't see this as a revolution.
The big question I have is "will bombers survive"?  So far, bomber pilots on the whole haven't taken much of a shine to AH.
Hopefully this will change.


As for the furballing, this is also a function of arena size.  I predict a larger arena to handle the larger crowds.

Well this bomber pilot has!  Though, to be honest, it has taken some time to get used to the bombers here!  I suspect new players are experiencing similar problems to those I had in finding the bombsight, actually learning how to look through it - and keeping it open!  

Anyway, just look at the number of us who have registered for bomber groups in Bigweek!

I dunno ... when I joined AH in Feb I saw more AW people here than I ever saw in WB. That was prior to even the rumor that AW was KIA. Don't forget that AW spawned WB which spawned AH - so there's always been an AW influence whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

And ... beyond all that ... I'm 99.9999999% sure that HT has his mind pretty well wrapped around where he plans the game to go already.
