I just got new USB CH PRO Throttle, Fightersick, and Throttle. I had been putting up with the same set-up in a very spikey analog/gameport version for years. I'm astonished to see solid lines on the graphs, especially after using a truckload of TM, Saiteck and CH analog stuff on 3 puters over the past 6 years. Never seen solid lines before.
However, I have problems,
First of all, I think the CH Control Manager program and its directions were either written by 7th graders or perhaps monkeys...
I can't believe that CH went from Speedkeys to this CH Control Manager GARBAGE. The first time I used Speedkeys, everything worked right away, I was programing it within 10 minutes, done in an hour or two. I don't even think I read the directions, it just made sense. This new CH Control Manager V1.31 does not make sense. Things are poorly defined and explained in the Help section, and it lacks pictures. It's kind of a "Who's on First" routine. Most importantly, things don't work like they should.
When I try to caliibrate the throttle in CH Control Manager, it thinks its a joystick and asks me to move it to the right. The JS and throttle seem to calibrate OK.
I read through this thread (< CH HOTAS USB Troubles > in Tech support). From it I was able to get the basic joystick, throttle, rudder and toe brakes working in AH. But not the buttons. Folks said they used the CH Control Manager to program the buttons. I programed just 3 buttons to test it out and when I went into AH. Well the buttons now work, but all of the axis contols have been lost, except for the throttle. Also, button #3 on the JS makes the mode light flip out every time I hit it. This button is a must because it is my straight up veiw.
I reassigned the > AH Control > to > Joystick > to > Joystick Control> in Aces High. It still only recognizes the throttle. So now what? Do I have to erase the joystick button commands now... somehow.
4 hours working on this, reading the Control Manager Help and related BB posts, writing this... Feel like Iv'e gotten nowhere!
Irritated, disapointed, and going to bed (its midnight).
Thanks for any replies.
(BTW, I'm running it all through a Powered Belkin 4 port USB hub)
