Anyone know about Windows XP's Firewall?
« on: January 18, 2003, 12:12:30 PM »
S! All,
I have been trying to host on RW for Soldier of Fortune 2, so me my dad and his friend can play. Neither 1 of us can host because we have Windows XP. The cheap firewall that XP comes with won't let you host it. My dad's friends friend has Windows 98 and he can host all of the time. What I am wanting to know is if there is a way to take the firewall off Windows XP or disable it somehow. If anyone has any information on this subject, it would be greatly appreciated. S!

Yes, you can disable it. Right click network connections and choose properties. Find your network connection (local area connection if broadband) right click and choose properties. Choose the advanced tab and uncheck the firewall box.
Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.
