Hi all

im just wondering about AAA`s and how they are in the game , i watched some movies/discovery again

and they seem to not fire (unable) when the planes comes VERY low (150 feet or lower ) .

But in AH they still shoot when ur very low , woudnt this be great to have in AH ? i have seen Acks shot in ground when planes are lower then the acks are , and i realy think that gameplay (hitting bases ) woud be more fun if we had to go lower to take them out

It really depends on the AAA platform. Flak usually didn't fire at low altitudes but anti-aircraft guns like 40mms and the like did. If you watch any of the old WW2 US Navy footage of ships fighting off air attacks from kamikazi, you'll see rounds hitting the water.

Whether they fire at low flying ac depends only on their rate of slew, in both the horizontal or vertical. Smaller early AAA, that fired 20mm and manned by two crew could fire at lower flying ac. The 88mm for the germans and the 40MM Bofors for the British were used as aaa, but where simply too big to slew rapidly.

Another limitation which is inherent in some AAA pieces is the fact that the gun depression angle cant go below a certain degree...this is due to mechanical limitations or design input.

That too. When needed the smaller aaa could be used quite effectively against infantry and light armor and the Bofors and 88 were devastating anti-tank weapons.
