In light of all the Flames on this board, I thought I would post something a little different. This is a copy of an AAR From the Last RJO Mission night.
I salute the Bishop Pilots that put up a strong fight for 240 that night, They really made that an epic battle.
Fellow Rooks,
What an exciting opportunity for Leading a Joint Operation! The Pizza Map, Pushed into a corner, HQ behind the enemy lines, No Radar, The Key field at High alt overlooking HQ in enemy hands and Bishops poised for a Reset!
The Evening began for me about an hour before the Offical Start of the RJO. Upon arrival I saw the situation and desided right away, We had to Punish the Bishops. There was no way I would after the Knights and force a reset and win the war for the Bishops. I just could not see giving them the benifit of our efforts. I joined up with an Early Mission to take 240.
240 is the southern most field in the center of the map, its on a high platue next to HQ. My hope would be to grab it before the Bishops could react. Well, that wasnt to be. The Bishops mounted a fierce resistance.
As the time for the RJO neared, I began to encourage folks to join in the fight for 240. This is a very difficult job, not only because of its placement, But also its a long flight from our own bases. The Enemy was not going to let it go easily.
I shifted efforts of the Ghosts, The 327th and NightMares to the next nearest enemy field 236 and ordered it put out of commision. The rest of the Rooks began to pound 240. Slowly the Tide started to turn, The 236 effort paided off and we captured it.
After over an hour of fighting, 240 finnaly fell. It was probably the most difficult battle Iv ever wittnessed during an RJO. Directing Pilots without Radar made it more the difficult. Shortly after, Many Faithful Rooks Resuppled our HQ and Radar was back online.
Gunner (GunrCAF) was next to me here in the Command Center in Wisconsin. We quickly decided our next plan of attack, We would work 2 fields at a time, working toward the Eastern Key field of 231.
The northern wing was a combination of the Airmeggedon and 81st, with a few friends. They with machine like precision move from base to base suppressing, capturing and pressing on.
The southern wing was comprised of the Bulk of the rest of the RJO Squad as the enemy seemed to bring its weight to bare against them. Pilots again put the needs of the RJO ahead of personal success and fought valiantly and won feild after feild.
A Few Squads did some special Ops to help our efforts, The Flying Tigers went on Defence against the Knights, later aided by the NightHawks. The Nazgul attempted some captures north of the main fight and help take the heat, by drawing emeny attention north. I salute there efforts!
All in All, We Push out of the hole, Captured about 15 fields, Captured the Bulk of 2 additional Zones including the Key feilds. We regained the Radar and put ourselves in a much stronger position.
I wittnessed the Rooks, Working as a Team and actualy have alot of Fun.
To Lead this Group was such an honor, You the Pilots and Squads made it enjoyable and successful.
I have to thank a few indivuals, Gunner for being behind the scences keeping me upto date and organised. He doesnt get near the recognition he deserves. Stiletto did a great job of keeping informed on the flanks, Thanks for your efforts. Drone and Deman, Two COs that are a freaking a capture machine when working in tandem. Awsome! GhostDancer and Dawg, aways working as Key guys, even when not in the limelight. I could go on and on, Everyone did a extrodinary job.
If you have yet to lead an RJO, I really encourage you to take a turn at the helm, Its something you cant discribe. Possibly the most rewarding thing Iv done.
TOO ALL THE PILOTS!!!!!!!! WTG and ODM*!!!!!!
