Help! Cougar static
« on: January 19, 2003, 08:56:43 PM »
Was walkin across the room in my nice warm wool socks.
Really cold here in michigan. Went to touch my nice metal cougar throttle and got zapped!
Since then the throttle has gone a bit haywire. My rudders are now my throttle lol.
Any ideas on what I should do?

First try to flash and reinstall the firmware.  It can be the cure when the Cougar starts acting strange.  Next, reload your the program in your stick.

Then get yourself a good pair of cotton socks:)

Good Luck,

Thanks for the response guys. After reading the post at frugal world I see this seems to be a common problem. I tried everything then pulled the bottom off the stick and can see where it arched across the circuit board. Next step is to call thrusmaster since it is still under warranty.
I'll let ya know how it works out

Something else to try is to unplug your Cougar from the USB port, hold the fire button down and then plug it back in with the button depressed.  I could not load anything onto my cougar until I did this (actually by accident).
