Yaknow, when the 'pubs decide that I can keep my Claymores for home defense I'll start voting blindly on the party line...until then neither a wacko Dem perp nor a wacko Rep perp should step into my domain.

How's that for a flamin' liberal's position?

FWIW, I encountered far more conservatives in the military than liberals.

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner and is running at you while screaming obscenities. In your hand is a Glock .40 and you are an expert shot.
You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Liberal Answer Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that is inspiring him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think?
What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation?
Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me or would he just be content to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days to try to come to a conclusion.

Conservative Answer BANG!
_____________________________ _____________________________ __
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click... (sounds of clip being ejected and fresh clip installed)
Wife: "Sweetheart, he looks like he's still moving, what do you kids think?"
Son: "Mom's right Dad, I saw it too..."
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Daughter: "Nice grouping Daddy!"

A good liberal would first ask himself what he might have done to cause that that poor man with a knife to attack. He would then try to get a good "hug of the thug" in before he let his family die.

If he survived, he would hope the murderer got a light sentence and early parole.

or is that just what liberals expect OTHERS to do?

:)

Hmmm, don't know how you'd label me, but I'd drop the perpetrator with about 2-3 well placed shots from my SigSauer P220-45.
As for your using a 9mm Glock----- YOU SISSY! :D
No wonder it took you 9 shots to bring him down. ;)

Hehe, and I have a REAL Swiss handgun. SigSauer P220-45. The H&K isn't.  ;)

Actually all kidding aside, I haven't fired an H&K handgun yet. Heard they were really good guns. Someday I'll try one.

mrlars... I don't believe people should have area weapons or weapons that would endager others during a fire or such...Reloaders are limited as to how much powder we can store even though it is really more of a burnoing hazard than an explosive one.

Voting 'blindly" for "pubs" is a very good idea if the race is between a dem and a "pub" only or... there is a chance the dejm could win and.... you care about retaining your gun rights.   The NRA questions politicians and publishes the results.  About 90% of dems "blindly" want more, and onerous, gun control.   If you "blindly" vote for pubs you will indeed be doing something to retain your second amendment rights... I can't think of any other issue that is more clear...   I certainly don't understand either parties idea on how the economy should go.

I also feel that most of the time a vote for dems is a vote for expanding the government... NEVER a good thing.   Sao yes.... You can actually vote "blindly" and have help your agenda.   If you belong to a union and love unions you can bet that your are better off with a toejamload of dems running around tho.

oh... I have a Walther PPK in stainless... A REAL german gun ... no, wait... it's made here.. nevermind.

Veterans do not have a monopoly on the ability to handle a weapon at close quarters.  I've known one or two whose prowess with a handgun was right up there with Barney Fife.  One became a deputy sheriff. He shot and wounded an unarmed man that he and another deputy had pulled over for driving erratically after leaving a local club.  I knew "Barney" fairly well.  My low opinion of his judgment and firearms knowledge was reinforced by this incident.  Fortunately, the man who was shot did not die.

After an investigation, the incident was ruled an accident.  Why he felt the need to pull his weapon on an unarmed and unaggressive civilian was never explained.

Such BS. You can be a democrat in favour of guns.

And a rep opposing it.

This stereotyping. Is this how you guys libe your libes? Do you artificially create us vs them situations all the time to be more secure, to have more absolutism in your lives?

Use your brains. They are there for a reason.

The world ain't black and white. It's shades of gray.

Ah.. Santa, just being intelligent is not enough here. We must also wear labels. Lacking these labels clearly displayed, it's not uncommon to see 'what if' questions posed whereby the participants are labled via how they respond.

This gives everybody a chance to display their labels without too much chance of having them clash with other desiginer opinions.

Better than the german 'juden' armbands of yesteryear.... but only just.

Aside from yours and mine, I wonder how many other 'honest' opinions are displayed in this thread. ;)

Members refuse to use labels or to have one attached.

But are of course labelled 'Non Wearing Bums' by their surroundings :).
