So, how DID the N1K2-J change?
« on: October 04, 2001, 11:47:00 PM »
I can't play AH for about four days, and I didn't know 1.08 arrived until this moment  :) Didn't expect it, just drove in to this BBS mindlessly and... WHAT THE HECK IS THIS[/b] "1.08 released"

 ..

I'll get to AH in after a couple of days, but kinda anxious to know..

How did the performance of LA-7s, N1K2s, F4U-1D/Cs change  :) ?? Anybody feeling any difference? Will there be no more reason for whiny people like me  :D to raise eyebrows at the sight of the 'UFO maneuvers' ??

Plzplzplz tell me tell me tell me ~

  :)

Tried the N1K out today, fought the N1K today, seems the same to me.  Still can 180 degree turn and catch Tempest in the short term.

Seems the same to me.  Still can't do a 180 degree turn and catch up with a tempest that's zooming it.

La7 seems the same to me. It might have lost just a tad in the vertical. Kills 262's and Temps easy enough. The Hurricane was giving me a little bit of a tough time. That surprised me.

Niki has been defanged, or I ran into sad sack pilot's. Not too many of them up, though.

F4U4 is fast, but it can't turn any better then other planes. My 262 caught one running low through the mountains, which got me a little worried about 262's! F4U4 was evasive, but could not rate at full speed to get out of my gun envelope.

262 vs. buff I will have to wait to tell for sure. It seems like a bad idea to attack a buff with a perk ride, but I think it can be done. I only found one buff all night (strat being disabled) and he died one pass (that I fired). He was warpy though, so it might not be a good test.

262 vs. fighter leaves me with the impression that the 262 is the ultimate BnZ machine. I was putting so much pressure on one guy he bailed in frustration! Others were single pass one trigger toggle kills.

Fighter vs. 262 leaves me with impression that 262 will never touch me. Again, hard to say who was behind 262. I ran into 4 with alt at different times. One of them spent so much time at it he ran out of fuel and bailed (no kill). Me-262 is easy meat if you have alt on it and the guy turns. If you catch them real low they're toast.

Don't HO a MOSSIE! Don't HO a Hurri either. I was really surprised how both of these planes could move in the vertical. I'm gonna be testing the waters with that for awhile! Neither seem able to catch La7.

I thought a Mosquito and a Mossie were the same?

 :)
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

According to the ReadMe file, the La7 was not one of the aircraft that was changed.

Flying it last night, I could not detect any difference at all.

I didn't see many N1K2's and the few I did see didn't last long, but given that they were mostly flying against hordes of Hurri IIC's and Mossies its not hard to understand why. Both have truely EVIL guns.

Never said I was BnZ in the temp vs n1k SOB, was HO coalt, he insta-flipped and pinged me twice b4 I got outta range.  Which means the N1K can still turn 180 deg within 500d with almost no E loss.
