I was hoping someone could help me out. I want to take an AH film and make it an intro to a website. What format does it have to be changed to and what programs do I use? Also, I have an extra computer to host my own site. What programs are there to set up a site? And is there a class I can take to learn more about this?

WOWZERS.....ever hear of baby steps!

There is no effective way of directly displaying an AH film on a webpage.  The film viewer is required to view the films and its just not going to happen.

You could of course take a few screenshots of backgrounds, planes, etc, and incorperate them into a FLASH movie.   Many classes and books on that....but its going to take a while for you to grasp enough about flash to make it look as good as Im sure you want it to....so be patient and dont give up!

Oh...and its better as a new webmaster to use a webhost rather than set up a webhosting program, nameserver ect on your own hardware.....but it can be done....do some google searches on the subjects for more info and links....but paying a few $$$ for a good host is much quicker and easier if you are not expierenced (your question implies you are just getting started).

You can, however, save your AH film as an AVI, and there are a number of progs that will convert and compress for you after that

I noticed the save to avi, then they ask what codecs to use....yikes!

dont use any codec just convert it raw to avi then get Helix producer basic (i dont have link as I am not at home).

This will make your film Realplayer compatable and if I remeber correctly it will spit out a webpage that will allow streaming video when you go to the page.

But as an intro to a web site this is kinda weak. lotsa folks dont use real player.

Creating a flash intro is your best bet. Goto macromedias page and download the trial version of flash mx.

One of the AKs posted a tutorial on how he did his flash briefings for tod. Do a search for the link on this bbs.
