I have an idea for a cool, 1~2 player "special mission", to add some of the small fun&immersion factors
How would you guys be interested in a "Test Pilot" mission? Ever wondered what it would feel to be like in the shoes of the test pilots, who receives a newborn child of the latest technology, with all the dangers and potentials?

I am assuming that with the transgression of phases of the war, plane sets will also evolve with it...
What if, before a new phase starts, a few of the pilots(determined by score, or rank, or maybe something else?
) get to 'test out' the prototypes of the new planes?
I am also assuming that since HT has mentioned 'better ground crew', I am guessing that there will be some margins of difference in performance, even with the same aircraft.
How about if the 'prototype test planes' can vary in performance, prone to maybe random failures.. maybe better performance than 'production versions'... maybe worse performance.. different loadouts from the 'production versions'... etc etc?
For instance, in the stages of mid 1941, maybe 3~4 of the Axis pilots will be offered a special mission to 'try out' the 'latest, super secret fighter' which is soon destined to be designated as the Fw190A-1?
Maybe they'll be more prone to overheat problems, than the 'production versions'?? Or, a certain squadron might be assigned experimentally, for combat tests, such as the JG26 who were the first pilots to receive the Fw190?
Or.. how would it feel to be the first pilot to fly the Me262, in 1942?? With more dangers in engine failures, and bit worse off than the production versions.. In this mission of 1942, you will be prohibited to go out to actual combat, and will be a test pilot for the jet in a very very remote area deep in germany..
Or.. how about a mission as the first pilot to try out the Ta152? Maybe a little 'historic reenactment mission' where according to schedule, a few P-51s will arrive at the seen where 'Tank' is testing out the Ta152?
........
I think it would add some cool, immersive, subtle, and fun variation to the missions.
Maybe the merit of getting higher ranks can be rewarded in one such way... I for one, would be thrilled to be the 'first one to fly the 262 in AH Virtual WWII history
