You are probably right Rip.

Heck, after I blew off Pro sports, I got into College sports, then it became a cess pool,..so then down to High School Sports, until one day my son comes home from his first varsity football practice with this tub of chemicals the coaches say they have to take.

The stuff contained steroids and that was it for me.

Damn, Skuz, that's the most pathetic thing I've ever heard.  Did the school endorse that, or was that the coach's own perogative?

SOB, thats pretty typical today.  Its still a choice of the student, but the chances that you'll be a first stringer are slim, since others already have an edge on the non-users in performance.

Womens HS sports news 2 years ago in the AMA Journal:

Steroid use among WOMEN in Highschool and college level sports increased 57% in 1999.

It was like Rip said.  The school knows about it, and when he went back and told the coach he would not take the steroids, the coach kicked him off the team.

Probably? He's 12-2. And didn't pick last years SB!

He's so manly right all the time. Come Monday, he'll have all the stats too.

I'm over laughing at Dripsnore considering his stats, and now, for real, believe.

Just gimme the Super Bowl winner and spread, and the Daytona 500 1st through 5th so i can retire.

Before is a key word, it would be a plus.

Rediculous.  At that point, it's time for a lawyer.  They never made us take drugs to remain on the varsity tennis team.  Hmm...I guess they did require us to drink non-alcoholic peach marguiritas, and raise our pinky when we sipped out of a cup tho'.  :D

SOB, you're not familiar with the 'Bubba' legal system we have here in Texas.  Football is a sacred cow to the high schools and to the alumini that support them.

You cannot win against them.  I probably would have had my house burned to the ground had I done anything to upset that kitty cart.

Skuzzy, its a stalkers thing...disregard Creamo, this way we KNOW he's alive still.  (I might add that I'm slightly better at predicting superbowls than he is at projecting UAL stock prices)

Wow, goofing on dripsnores 'im right all the time, looky me', made me miss this wacko post.

Gimme the name of your sons school Skuzzy, I'll be thanked by 20/20 and well paid for breaking this insane child abuse drug ring.

That's just WRONG.

My Uncle was a high school varsity football coach (CIF large school division) before getting into the book business. He coached in Southern Calif., then moved to Plano, TX.

He said that the TX schools took it way too seriously, and that the level of play was better in California.

Creamo,..my son graduated last year and is a SERE instructor in the Air Force now.

60 Minutes tried to break this story and failed.

You have no idea how well entrenched this is, nor how well supported it is by parents and school administrators alike.

It's all about winning.
