Having tried the new AH flight model offline, I do not understand why people say "BnZ is pointless/impossible"

These planes now hold E better than before.  Good.  Now it feels like an airplane, not a flying airbrake.  Maybe a little too well in some cases, but still a vast improvement over the previous version.

Still, these planes are not jets.  Compared to the other online flight sim I play (AirWarrior), Aces High planes don't hold E any better.  In fact, I think planes in AirWarrior hold E a little better.

Do people in AirWarrior claim that BnZ is pointless?  Heck no!!  BnZ is extremely effective--its the best way to get kills and survive.

Only, the enemies are usually able to do evasive maneuvers.  There are very few "easy kills" like there used to be in AH.   You have to be able to anticipate where your enemy will go, and use your superior E state to get there first.   If you have an E advantage, the target will still die....it just takes a little thinking--and patience.

AH will be the same way now.  GOOD, is all I have to say.  No more "1 evasive then too slow to maneuver"

My problem with the concept is the "boom" part. You put that nose down to get a head of steam, and you're in terminal dive before you can say, "Ohhhhhh shiiiiiii....."

On the other side of the coin, it seems way too easy to pull these birds over the top of an immelman or a loop. You struggle with all your might (and your stick throw) to get the damned thing out of a lawndart dive and while you're still thinking "whew!" you're over the top, looking at ground "above you".

I had one situation where a Yak flew by me low and distracted by other cons in front of him. I was in the sun and he never saw me. I got onto his 8:00 high, but could barely make up ground: I knew if I put the nose down, I'd lawndart right past him.

This phenomenon happens even when I throttle way back; thus I can't understand why this happens.

The dive depends on the plane you are in. Remember you are getting full advantage of gravity PLUS thrust from the engine downwards

Blackouts are extremely annoying now though... seems you lose vision at 4g's or less. Thought the human body could take 7 or 9 g's before blackouts.

Must be my pilot is undermodeled and a hell of a wimp *G*

Wimp, yes...undermodelled, probably.  Fatty visited HTC a few weeks before the release.  The best I can guess is they needed a candidate for modeling blackouts from the player base, and since he was there, why not use him?  Unfortunately, after 3 dozen wings and a case of beer his tolerance to body stress was lowered signifigantly.  Oh, and HTC...sorry about the carpet, but you really should have waited at least 30 minutes before letting him go in! (at least that's what my mom says)
