I dunno, I think driving at 120 MPH + while hitting the guy next to me to try to get ahead of him would be a lot scarier than running down a field with a ball.

NASCAR short-track racing is the real deal.  The super-speedways make for dull racing.

Pffffft!!  I do that on the southeast expressway everyday:D

Well I should have said auto racing in general then LOL.
Yes nascar is a snoozer.
I like F1 and american lemans series myself.
But auto racing does draw the largest crouds in person and on tv thats fact.
PS the highest pais athelet is micheal schumacher 90 million last year.
So auto racing must be doing something right.

Sounds like one of the propaganda anti-drug commercials you like so much.

The Demographics paint a much different picture than just stereotypical "rednecks" watching NASCAR. In fact, considering the new markets, that foolish assumption is more in the line of an outright lie. hello

You Amerikans are patheeetic.

You're national sport sucks, its not even competed on at an international level, so you have to resort to 'imitating' great international sports like Soccer. And you can't even get that right... fools... you're supposed to riot IN the Arena.

The least you could do is import some decent skilled fans from France

Heh, I fondly remember a time in the past when Americans were complaining about soccer hooligans.

No fun that the Americans now join in this the favourite past time of European soccer fanatics.

You still have lots to learn though. A few arrested for being intoxicated? Please. And where were the massive battles between police and thousands of supporters?

Send you best and brigthest to England for a year. They'll learn the proper way of doing things.

Heh Santa, I remember those times too.

Upstart rutabagas, the lot of them. They ought to come to Sheffield on Derby day, when Sheffield United play Sheffield Wednesday at Hilsborough. Go round a few pubs in Hilsborough - particpate in a few wanton acts of violence. They'd soon learn a thing or two.

Personally I think they should use rubber bullets against football hooligans.

And when we weren't hitting on chicks we were showing off our rides cruising up and down Dale Mabry and Himes. :)

They had a "welcome home" victory celebration at the Raymond James Stadium last night.  The stadium was filled to capacity and they had to turn people away, so crowds started partying in the parking lot, listing to it all on the live radio and television broadcasts.  It was like a game day, but without an opposing team.  It was a pretty fun event (from what I've heard from friends - I didn't go because it was my volleyball night).  Out of 65,000 in the stadium, only 1 guy charged the field and security dealt with him pretty quickly. No fights, no drunken brawls.  AFAIK, there wasn't any trouble out in the parking lots, either.

Today they're having a parade along Bayshore Blvd going into downtown, ending in front of a public park (bordered by police HQ, but that's just a coincidence).  They're expecting twice as many people as were at the celebration last night.  This weekend is the big Gasparilla parade and they're expecting their largest turnout ever.

So Tampa will be celebrating our first Super Bowl victory for a whole week, maybe even the entire off-season.

I believe that our "socio economicly" depressed groups would have had a better excusse to riot if the raiders had won.

we never have any good riots where I live.
