Okay, the bonus question is this:

What is the airplane?

A) Laird Solution?
B) Curtiss R3 C1 Racer?
C) Gee Bee R1?
D) Other?

"D"

My reasoning is that for both the Curtis and Gee Bee the canop ought to be visible in the photo and the spine of Laird is a good deal higher.

Could it be one of the Curtiss racers - land or water?;)
