P40-B ENY - too low?
« on: January 29, 2003, 06:48:01 AM »
I was in the mood to make some perks last night, so I figured why not fly a p40?   Landed some kills and wasn't seeing real good perk return.   Belatedly I look at the ENY value for the p40's, they seem too low to me (i.e. P-40B has same ENY as 109g6 and 109F4 has an even higher ENY)

hitech have you had time to look over the ENY situation in general, are you happy with the ENY figures (for the p40 n particular)?

Both of the p40's ENY is too low.

The P40E's usage is about that of the c202(60 eny). Yet is 35 ENY.

The P40B is the least used fighter by a signficant margin, yet is 40 eny?

yeah i was very surprised, I am hoping just not been reviewed since release.   This is also same eny as the 205.  On the fence on the p40E, it is a good plane - but i not seen one in some time though.

The ENY values of planes also seem to include the number of roles that a plane can play.  While the C.205 is clearly the superior fighter, that is all that the C.205 can bring to the table.  The P-40 can JABO, the C.205 can't.

The p40B does not carry bombs (or at least the one they let me fly doesn't :) )

This has been brought up several times in the past statistics included.  The ENY should be determined by usage and overall performance (or "difficulty") of the aircraft.  And to restate what Maxtor said:  the 109g6's usage exceeds that of both P40s combined.  The 109f4 sees more action and outperforms the P40 (raw data, excluding pilot skill) and has a HIGHER ENY.

Not only do the P40E and P40B's ENY need to be raised, but several other aircraft need some serious adjusting.  I love flying the P40 and have a decent k/d with the E model.  I'd like to see some more perkies :P

I'm not sure how difficult it is to change, but some reworking is needed! :)

The OBJ value is used for aircraft vs. ground targets.
