Can we Please get a CPID filter HT?
« on: January 31, 2003, 10:00:59 AM »
No, Im not talking about profane or disturbing CPIDS (I could care less about things like sswaffen...geez)

What Im refering too is the huge influx of new players getting frustrated with the "good" names being taken and giving up and calling themsleves 8993812

Now if someone absolutely wants to be called a number...hey, no skin off my nose.  But a nice warning pop up about the problems they may experience, and a name generator program (pretty easy to do...I could show the way its done, but I cant code in C++) would greatly help many new players.

I find that CPID that are all #'s, typically dont get nearly as much interaction with the community because not only is it a pain in the arse to say "Watch the spit six eight four eight two seven five err I mean five seven two"...oops he's already dead by then.   But its also much harder to identify that its the same person you flew with last night, I can remeber flying with Flinkers, but was it 943358 last night or just another number that is similar.

I really think its needed IMHO

Time to scour out the old name database and make the used ones that are not in use now available.

THIS is LOONG overdue.  I had a hell of a time picking a name, landed on this one out of sheer frustration after about 20 minutes of trying.
