Multiple Characters per player

In order for the RPS aspect of AH2 to be realistic, a character should conform to a role. This as opposed to being a Navy fighter pilot one mission, then a Panzer tank commander the next.

For variety this suggest that a single player should be able to have multiple charaters progressing through careers - say a US Navy Fighter Pilot, an RAF Bomber Pilot, a Russian tank commander (hint, hint), etc.

Make it so that only one can be "activated" at a time.

Missions would require certain roles and if you have a character that fills the role, you can activate it and participate in that mission.

That's what we want but we want to combine as much as we can so people don't have 30 different avatars without any continuity.  People would also be more resistant to wanting to try campaigns other than what their main character is in.  So we're looking to limit it to 3 different avatars per side(Axis and Allies), a fighter pilot, a bomber pilot, and a tanker.  When you jump between services with the same character, they'll retain their rank with the appropriate new title.  So if your character was an army major and you take him into a naval theater, he'll transfer services and become a navy lt. commander.
