Joystick
« on: February 06, 2003, 10:07:33 PM »
My Joystick works in other games.
Yesterday, it worked in this game.

Now, the throttle doesn't work,  and when it does, it's full or off.
They joystick movement is like the throttle, it's all or nothing.  I move it and get no response for a bit, then full in that direction.

I have a Precision 2.
I've calibrated, in and out of game.
re-installed game and joystick.

I don't know what else to do.

Make sure your deadzones arent too big, and your stick scaling looks right.

I've fiddled with the deadzones, it doesn't make a difference.

Using the throttle as an example:

It is at 0, I start sliding it up, nothing happens, then it hits a point, jumps to full, and stays there.

I slide it down, it stays at full, then jumps to 0.

The same happens with flaps and rudder.

Try killing your joystick config file.

Or have you tried reinstalling AH?

I've reinstalled AH, but don't know how to kill my JS config file.

Ok, I went into settings and deleted js.cnfg or whatever.

Didn't help.

Yes, it tests fine in control panel, and works fine in other games.

update to this, after some tinkering and phone time with HT:

It seems Windows XP Pro automatically marks folders as read only.  If you right click and change, it just reverts back to read only.

Precision 2 sticks won't work with this, for some reason.

The stick buttons/hat can be mapped, but DON'T calibrate the stick in game, or change the sliders.

So far, until I figure out what is wrong, this is working.
