I cant remember the photogrphers name but it is one of the six photos taken at Omaha beach when the first wave went ashore.

I think he took 30+ pics but they were ruined in the development process,,,

I think the photographer's name was Robert Kappa (i am not sure if I remember correctly tho)

   Ya it is a very famious pic, I remember reading/hearing that the blured image was caused by the shock wave from an exploding shell, The photographers name is lost on me though:(.

He took 106 pics at Omaha Beach, but the darkroom technician at London, eager to see the images, dryed the film too fast, ruining all the photographs but ten.
